I was just reading through some of my old posts on here...
How some things never change:
  • I still love Jesus
  • I still love Seth Robert King
  • I still am consumed by school (and trying not to be bitter about it.)
  • I still read the news everyday and see the need of Jesus in the world. (Right now I am currently reading a story on Father Zakarias, World Magazine's Daniel of the Year for 2008. Amazing man.)
But now I am living in San Diego and Seth is in Nashville.

I'm in my last semester of college and I am feeling overwhelmed by it everyday.
Jesus is teaching me to breath.

My major is Government.
My job is working for a Christian non-profit that is involved in defending Christian rights, etc... Politics, politics, politics... It's all I think about.

I'm working on my senior research paper, looking at the relationship between John Calvin and the American Constitutional Republic. Very interesting. For people who hate Calvinism, it is crazy how much it revolutionized Western culture. Most of us have Calvinist "tendencies" in our thinking without us even knowing it.

Hmmm.... What else? That seems to sum up the majority of my life.

Perhaps some pictures?

We went to Disneyland with my parents for my 23rd Birthday.

Up in the mountains with my family (minus Josh).
My dad had that funny hat on the whole day.

Its just so darn cute!

I took him whale watching for our 1 year anniversary.
It ended up being more like dolphin watching, which was just as cool.
Seth made friends with the Seagulls.

Christmas Eve with the siblings and Kelly.

Seth surprised me and drove out from Nashville.

If a sudden jar can cause me to speak an impatient, unloving word, then I know nothing of Calvary love.*
(*For a cup brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, however suddenly jolted.)

If the praise of man elates me and his blame depresses me; if I cannot rest under misunderstanding without defending myself; if I love to be loved more than to love, to be served more than to serve, then I know nothing of Calvary love.

If I myself dominate myself, if my thoughts revolve around myself; if I am so occupied with myself I rarely have "a heart at leisure from itself," then I know nothing of Calvary love.

If I covet any place on earth but the dust at the foot of the cross, then I know nothing of Calvary love.

-Amy Carmichael

I've been reading about this womans life. She is an inspiration to me, to live more and more simply and satisfied in Christ.

nuevo laredo 009

Seth and I just got back from Nuevo Laredo.

What a simple thing, to love on orphans.

I seriously do not think that I can read the news anymore for interest alone. It makes me so sad and frustrated.

Here are a couple things that you should know and be praying about.

New medicine allows for children to undergo sex change at age of 12, at the Childrens Hospital in Boston.

Yale University art student induces multiple miscarriages for art project.

It's a bit explicit. Sorry.

My heart is truly heavy for the things that are going on in the world. Everyday I read the news, and there is always something so grieving to my heart. Here are some examples just from this last week:

A woman, who had a sex change and is now a man named “Thomas,” is pregnant with a baby girl. “He” and “his” partner, Nancy, are awaiting the baby girl in Oregon.  Just think of this baby girl, and how she will be born into this family! It breaks my heart. What a confused and messed up life to bring a child into.

On Easter, in San Francisco, a homosexual organization, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (the one’s who protested the Battle Cry), had a “hunky Jesus” competition where men would dress up in theme Jesus characters (hula Jesus, Michelangelo’s Jesus, etc…) in a public park and then proceed to do a strip tease.

There was a recent ad for an explicit sex show in a Milwaukee newspaper that ran on Good Friday. The “play” is part of the “Res-erection Tour” and features two naked men doing the “ancient Australian art of genital origami.” That’s the least explicit part of the explanation.

The University of Virginia student newspaper, the Cavalier Daily, published a vile anti-Christian cartoon last week. The cartoon depicted a naked man smoking a cigarette in bed. Standing beside the bed, a woman in her underwear buttons up her shirt and asks, 'Come on God, be honest – Did you really get a vasectomy? I can't let Joseph find out about this.' The man replies, 'Well, Mary, you're f----d."

Seriously, we need to keep praying and fighting for the honor and glory of Christ. He should not be so easily mocked in such a “politically correct” environment. I grieve so much for those who mock Him, and just pray that somehow the Lord would be merciful and reveal Himself to them, like He has done for me.

I want people to just KNOW Him for who He truly is.

He’s wonderful. The greatest to ever be desired.

How could we mock this most loving man, who has mourned over us and taken our burdens upon Himself?

Jesus, open eyes.

The two most influential preachers in my life are John Piper and Mark Driscoll. I can not get enough of them

Mark Driscoll is just about to finish his series called "Religion Saves and 9 Other Misconceptions." I REALLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO LISTEN TO IT. He's most recent sermon on the Emergent Church is very good and, I believe, important for you to listen to.

But anyways, I'm still alive.

This week is finals. Ugh.

I'm going to San Diego for a week. I'm so excited.

Anyways, I'm good.

Seth's good.

We're all good!!!
